Mumbai: An unidentified man lost his life after being struck by a train and becoming trapped between the train and the platform. The tragic incident occurred at Andheri railway station earlier this month, but a video clip of the event went viral on Tuesday, drawing widespread attention.
Details of the Incident
According to police reports, the man had ventured onto the tracks near platform number 1 to answer nature's call. While attempting to return to the platform, he was hit by an incoming train. The impact caused him to become stuck between the train and the platform from the waist downward, resulting in severe injuries.
Rescue Efforts and Outcome
Bystanders and police personnel immediately attempted to extricate the man, who was in excruciating pain. Despite their efforts, he succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene.
The Andheri Government Railway Police (GRP) has registered a case of accidental death and is working to establish the identity of the deceased. Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage and other evidence to piece together the exact sequence of events.
