Man Dies After Property Dispute Quarrel at Delhi Police Station
In a tragic incident in New Delhi, a 62-year-old man passed away after falling ill inside the Pul Prahladpur police station on Monday. The event occurred shortly after he engaged in a heated quarrel with his brother, stemming from a long-standing property dispute within the family.
Sequence of Events Leading to the Tragedy
Police received five PCR calls around 2:57 pm on Monday regarding a quarrel in Mittal Colony. The two quarrelling groups were separated and transported to the police station in different vehicles. Shamsher Singh, one of the brothers involved, arrived at the station at 3:30 pm.
While at the station, Shamsher became agitated and began shouting at his brother and nephews. Approximately ten minutes later, he showed signs of discomfort and appeared unwell, prompting him to lie down. Police officers noticed his medical distress and immediately moved him to the AIIMS Trauma Centre, where he was pronounced dead.
Police Investigation and Medical Background
DCP (southeast) Hemant Tiwari stated that both parties had previously filed cases against each other and made PCR calls related to the property dispute. He added that Shamsher Singh had a history of hypertension and coronary artery disease, which may have contributed to the fatal outcome.
In response to the incident, Shamsher's son, Rahul, filed a complaint on Tuesday against his uncle Arjun Singh and associates. The case has been registered under sections 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and 3(5) (common intention) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
