Man Gets 20-Year Jail for Assaulting Minor in Hisar

A court in Hisar on Monday sentenced a man to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment for sexually assaulting a minor girl, and also imposed a fine of Rs 2 lakh, half of which will be given as compensation to the victim.

Court Verdict

Fatehabad's Additional Sessions Judge Amit Garg convicted Vikram under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act. The court observed that the accused did not think even for a moment before destroying the victim's life, as per Fatehabad District Attorney Devendra Mittal.

Case Background

The case dates back to June 28, 2024, when a complainant reported that his minor daughter was missing, suspected to have been lured by a youth. On July 31, 2024, police rescued the minor from Rajasthan and arrested Vikram. Medical reports, the victim's statement, and other evidence corroborated the assault.
