Man Killed, Five Injured in Nalanda Clash Over Dispute

Biharsharif: A 25-year-old man was killed and five others sustained injuries in a violent clash between two groups over a trivial dispute at Punha village under Rahui police station area in Nalanda district on Friday night. The deceased has been identified as Ravi Kumar, son of Anil Chaudhary.

Incident Details

According to police, the trouble began during a community feast when a verbal spat erupted between Anil Chaudhary and Valmiki Chaudhary, also known as Dhirendra Chaudhary. The argument quickly escalated into a physical attack.

Ravi's father alleged that Valmiki, reportedly under the influence of alcohol, along with 12 associates, stormed into his house armed with sticks and sharp weapons and assaulted the family members.

Injured Victims

Those injured in the attack included Ravi's mother Gauri Devi (45), sister Kajal Kumari (17), uncle Damodar Chaudhary (55), and brother Sunny Kumar (21). Valmiki from the rival side was also injured in the clash.

Police Action

Police shifted the injured to Biharsharif Sadar Hospital, where Ravi was declared brought dead. Sunny was later referred to VIMS, Pawapuri, after his condition turned serious.

Rahui SHO Lalit Vijay said an FIR was filed against 14 named accused. Eleven persons have been arrested so far, while raids are on to nab the remaining accused. An FSL team was called to examine the spot, he added.
