Murder near Amritsar railway station: one arrested
Amardeep Singh, a resident of Jagdamba Colony, was allegedly killed by a group of armed assailants near Liberty Market, located opposite the Amritsar railway station, in the early hours of Monday. The attack took place in a busy area, shocking local residents and commuters.
Police investigation and arrest
Gurpreet Singh, Station House Officer (SHO) of the Civil Lines police station, confirmed that the victim's family members have provided their statements and a formal case has been registered. One of the accused has been apprehended, while police teams are actively searching for the remaining suspects. “We have arrested one individual and are working to identify and arrest his accomplices,” said SHO Gurpreet Singh.

According to preliminary investigations, a monetary dispute is believed to be the motive behind the murder.
