A man allegedly set his father-in-law's house on fire in the Ghumar Mandi area of Ludhiana on Wednesday night, following a family dispute. The accused, identified as Ravi Kumar, a resident of the same locality, reportedly had an altercation with his wife and in-laws earlier in the evening. Enraged, he poured petrol on the main door of the house and set it ablaze. The fire quickly spread, damaging the entrance and some belongings. Neighbors alerted the fire brigade, which reached the spot and doused the flames. No casualties were reported as the family managed to escape unharmed. The police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and are searching for the accused, who fled the scene. Preliminary investigations suggest a history of marital discord between the couple.
