Men Halt Vande Bharat Express with Wooden Logs for Social Media Reel, Triggering Nationwide Outrage

A disturbing video that has gone viral across social media platforms shows a group of young men deliberately halting a Vande Bharat Express train by placing wooden logs on the railway tracks, allegedly to create a Reel video. The incident has sparked widespread public outrage and serious concerns about railway safety and passenger security.

Viral Video Captures Dangerous Act and Police Response

The now-viral footage begins with the men proudly declaring in Hindi, "rukwa diye Vande Bharat" (We made the Vande Bharat train stop), while laughing as the high-speed train comes to an abrupt halt on the tracks. As the video progresses, it reveals the group blocking the railway tracks specifically to film content for social media platforms.

The video also captures a police constable aboard the train who initially appears to assume the men were attempting to board illegally. However, the group clarifies on camera that they had no intention of boarding the train and were "only filming a video." Throughout the incident, the individuals provide what they describe as "live commentary" for their dangerous act.

Public Demands Stringent Legal Action

The video has triggered an immediate and strong response from social media users, with many tagging Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Railway Protection Force (RPF), and the Railway Ministry directly. Numerous users are demanding strict legal action against the perpetrators, with some calling for charges under serious anti-terrorism laws.

Sharing the video on platform X, user @SouleFacts wrote: "Stopping Vandey Bharat and jeopardising lives of passengers by placing wooden logs for making reels should be treated as an act of terrorism. Request @RailMinIndia and @RPF_INDIA to arrest them all and coordinate with state government to slap NSA on them."

The outrage has extended to calls for invoking the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), with one user tagging Union Home Minister Amit Shah and stating: "Such acts should be put under UAPA. Please make this change and start acting on all such cases. Let them rot in jail without bail."

Growing Concerns Over Railway Safety Incidents

This incident adds to growing concerns about dangerous stunts being performed on railway tracks for social media content. In July of last year, three minors from Odisha were detained after one lay on railway tracks while a speeding train passed over him, with the other two recording the incident.

Social media reactions to the Vande Bharat incident reflect deep frustration with such behavior. One user commented: "The saddest part is despite all the evidence they will not bear any consequences at all and will soon do it again." Another added: "This is a crime and these guys should get arrested and given strict punishment."

While the exact location and date of this particular incident remain unknown, the video has circulated widely since January 23, 2026, drawing attention to the urgent need for stronger enforcement and public awareness regarding railway safety.
