Body Discovered at Temple Premises
Late Wednesday night, the body of a 28-year-old migrant worker was discovered on the grounds of a Shiva temple in Bated village, located in the Barotiwala area of Solan district. Police reported that the victim was found lying in a pool of blood in the temple courtyard, near the Public Health Centre at Bated. A preliminary investigation indicated that the victim had been struck on the head with a blunt object, resulting in a fatal injury.
Police Response and Investigation
Upon receiving the information, police personnel promptly arrived at the scene. Senior officials including Baddi SP Vinod Dhiman, Additional SP Ashok Verma, and a forensic team also visited the spot to oversee the investigation. SP Dhiman confirmed that an inquiry is underway. Initial findings have raised suspicion against a member of the victim's family, who resides nearby and has been reported missing. Several police teams have been formed to trace the suspect, and raids are being conducted at possible hideouts.
Motive Yet to Be Ascertained
The police stated that the motive behind the murder remains unknown at this stage. Further investigation is ongoing, with forensic evidence being collected to establish the sequence of events leading to the crime. The victim, a migrant worker, had been living in the area for some time. Authorities are also questioning local residents to gather any additional information that might help solve the case.
