A minor collision between two vehicles inside the Dwarka Expressway Tunnel on Tuesday evening escalated into a brief scuffle after a taxi driver allegedly attempted to assault another motorist with a stick, according to police reports. The incident occurred around 7:44 pm, prompting a PCR call to the Kapashera police station.
Complainant Details the Incident
The complainant, driving a WagonR, reported that his vehicle was involved in a minor collision with a white Maruti Ertiga taxi. Following the collision, the taxi driver allegedly grabbed a stick and tried to assault him. In self-defence, the complainant pushed the taxi driver, causing him to fall against a parked Kia Seltos. This resulted in minor damage to the Kia Seltos.
Kia Seltos Owner Demands Compensation
The owner of the Kia Seltos intervened, stopping the complainant and demanding compensation for the damage to his vehicle. Meanwhile, the taxi driver reportedly fled the scene before police arrived. When PCR personnel reached the tunnel, they found neither the damaged vehicles nor any injured persons.
During a telephonic conversation with the police, the complainant stated that he had returned home, the matter had been resolved amicably with the Kia Seltos owner, and he did not wish to initiate any legal proceedings. No injuries were reported from any party involved.
Police Investigation Underway
Police officials confirmed that efforts are underway to trace the complainant, while CCTV footage from the area is being examined to identify and locate the taxi driver. Authorities are treating the case as a minor traffic dispute that escalated unnecessarily.
