A security guard who was stabbed last month by a 31-year-old man in Mira Road, after allegedly being profiled based on his religion, was discharged from hospital on Monday after 14 days of treatment.
Hospital Stay and Security
Hospital sources said two police personnel were posted outside the room of the guard, Rajkumar Mishra (52), and he was watched round the clock. Most of his hospital stay was in the intensive care unit (ICU) owing to the severity of his wounds. No information on his health was disclosed owing to the sensitivity of the case.
Recovery and Discharge
Hospital authorities said he responded well to the treatment, showed steady recovery, and was discharged in a stable condition. Another guard who was also attacked, Subroto Sen (31), was discharged earlier.
Details of the Attack
The assailant, Zaib Zubair Ansari, allegedly asked Mishra and Sen to disclose their religion before stabbing them early on April 27. He was arrested within an hour, and his custody was later handed over to the anti-terrorism squad.
