Morbi Man Allegedly Murders Wife in Domestic Dispute, Dumps Body Near Temple
In a shocking incident in Morbi district, a 47-year-old man has been accused of murdering his 48-year-old wife following a domestic quarrel. The crime occurred on Wednesday night near the Bhimnath Mahadev temple on the outskirts of Lajai village in Tankara taluka.
Police Register Case and Make Swift Arrest
Tankara police have registered a case against the accused, Sanjay Bhojavia, under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including Sections 103 (1), 238, and 351 (2). Authorities acted promptly, arresting Bhojavia soon after the offense was reported.
Investigating officer J D Jhala provided background details, revealing that Bhojavia's first wife had left him and their four children eight years ago to marry another man. Subsequently, Bhojavia married Shaku, the victim in this tragic case.
Details of the Fatal Night Emerge
The couple had an initial quarrel around 9 PM on Wednesday, after which both retired to their room to sleep, while the children slept separately. During the night, another argument erupted. In a violent outburst, Bhojavia allegedly struck his wife on the head with a blunt object, causing severe bleeding. Shockingly, he then went to sleep in the same room.
Upon waking in the morning and discovering Shaku dead, Bhojavia woke his son Sahil. He allegedly confessed, "I have killed your mother and I am going to throw her away." In his police statement, Sahil expressed terror, stating he refused to accompany his father. "My father threatened me and said that if you do not come with me, I will kill you too," Sahil recounted, highlighting the fear induced by the threat.
Body Disposal and Police Notification
Bhojavia then placed his wife's body in a rickshaw and dumped it among the thorns of an acacia tree near a dam opposite the Bhimnath temple. Sahil's sister, Lakshmi, later used his mobile phone to call emergency number 112, informing police about the incident.
Further insights from the investigation indicate that on the night of the murder, Bhojavia had told his wife, "Because of you, my first wife left me and my children," suggesting underlying marital tensions.

Preliminary inquiries by police reveal that Sanjay Bhojavia worked as a laborer. The investigation is currently ongoing, with efforts focused on recovering the blunt object allegedly used in the murder.
