Morbi Road Rage Turns Deadly: Teenagers Allegedly Murder Jeweller Over Car Horn
In a chilling incident that has sent shockwaves through the community, two 17-year-old Class 12 students have been accused of murdering a 33-year-old jeweller in what police describe as a classic case of road rage in Morbi, Gujarat. The tragic event unfolded on Thursday night, turning what was meant to be a joyous housewarming ceremony into a lifetime of grief for the victim's family.
The Fatal Confrontation
The victim, identified as Jatin Adesara, was returning to Morbi from Rajkot with his wife and sister around 10 PM on Thursday. The family had traveled to Rajkot to pick up Adesara's sister for an elaborate 'vastu' function planned for Friday to bless their new home. As Adesara drove along Shanala Road toward his residence, he encountered two boys on a scooter who refused to give him way.
Adesara continued honking his car horn, assuming the teenagers would eventually move aside. Instead, the duo stopped their vehicle directly in the middle of the road and began shouting expletives at him. The situation escalated rapidly when both boys approached Adesara's car, grabbed him by the collar, and forcibly pulled him out of the vehicle.
What happened next was nothing short of horrific. One of the teenagers repeatedly stabbed Adesara while the other restrained him, leaving the jeweller with deep stab wounds to his chest and back. The attackers then fled the scene on their scooter, abandoning Adesara bleeding profusely on the road.
Desperate Attempts to Save a Life
During the initial confrontation, Adesara managed to call his elder brother Maulik. Maulik rushed to the scene and immediately transported his injured brother to Krishna Hospital. In his final moments, Adesara was able to provide crucial information to investigators, revealing the nicknames the boys used to address each other during the attack.
Despite the best efforts of medical professionals at Krishna Hospital, Adesara succumbed to his injuries. The family, which resides on Satyampan Street in Morbi, has been left devastated by the loss. Adesara co-owned a jewellery shop in Soni Bazaar with his brother Maulik and leaves behind an 11-month-old daughter.
Police officials noted that during the entire confrontation, Adesara's wife, sister, and another relative remained in the car, never anticipating that the road dispute would escalate into fatal violence.
Police Investigation and Arrests
Morbi police detained both minors on Friday and launched a comprehensive investigation into the incident. R S Patel, inspector of Morbi A division police station, stated, "Primarily, there is no other motive for the murder and it's a classic case of road rage."
Mukesh Patel, superintendent of police in Morbi, provided additional details about the accused teenagers. Both are Class 12 students, with one scheduled to turn 18 within a week. The father of one boy is engaged in animal husbandry, while the other's father has a criminal record that includes prohibition cases.
The investigation continues as authorities work to piece together the complete sequence of events and determine appropriate legal actions against the minors involved in this tragic loss of life.
