A tragic road accident occurred on Dubagga road in Lucknow on Friday afternoon, resulting in the death of a 23-year-old motorcyclist and critical injuries to a 10-year-old boy. The collision involved a car allegedly driven by the wife of a police sub-inspector.

Details of the Accident

According to eyewitnesses, the motorcycle, ridden by Sahil (23), was struck with such force that he was thrown into the air and landed on the car's bonnet. He sustained severe head injuries and died instantly. The pillion rider, Mohd. Maaz alias Ajaan (10), suffered serious injuries and was rushed to a hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

Involvement of Police Officer

Eyewitnesses claimed the car was driven by the wife of a sub-inspector, who was seated beside her in uniform at the time of the accident. The officer is a 2023-batch sub-inspector posted in Hardoi district. Following the collision, angry villagers surrounded the couple, preventing them from leaving. A police team later arrived and escorted them to the police station.

Village Protest and Demands

In protest, villagers placed Sahil's body on Hardoi Road and blocked traffic for nearly four hours. They demanded Rs 1 crore in compensation, a government job for a family member, and the immediate arrest of those responsible for the accident.

Police Response

Assistant Commissioner of Police (Kakori) Shakeel Ahmed reached the spot and held talks with the family members, assuring a fair investigation and possible compensation.
