Two employees of a jewellery store in Mumbai's Borivli West area are currently on the run. They allegedly stole a massive quantity of gold ornaments valued at approximately Rs 6 crore. The MHB Colony Police have officially registered a case of theft and initiated a search operation to locate the duo.

Theft Occurred Overnight at 'My Gold Point' Store

Police officials stated that the theft likely took place during the intervening night between January 13 and January 14. The incident happened at the 'My Gold Point' jewellery store located in Borivli West. The store management had entrusted the two staff members with the keys to lock up the premises after regular business hours.

Instead of securing the store, the employees reportedly emptied multiple jewellery display cases. They made off with an estimated 4 kilograms of gold ornaments. Police Investigation Underway, CCTV Footage Being Scrutinized

The MHB Colony Police are actively working on the case. Officers are currently examining closed-circuit television footage from cameras installed in the vicinity of the jewellery store. This footage is crucial for tracking the movements of the accused and determining their possible escape routes.

Senior police officials confirmed that the identities of both employees are already known to the authorities. The police have not publicly released their names at this stage of the investigation. However, they are following several leads to apprehend the suspects.

Police Issue Advisory to Business Establishments

In light of this incident, the police have issued an advisory to commercial establishments across the city. They are urging business owners to conduct thorough background checks before hiring any staff. Verifying the antecedents of potential employees can help prevent such incidents in the future.

The investigation remains ongoing. Police are exploring all angles to recover the stolen gold and bring the perpetrators to justice. Residents and business owners in Borivli West are advised to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the MHB Colony Police immediately.
