Mysterious Fire Destroys Two Vehicles in Nagpur Garage

Nagpur: A mysterious early-morning fire destroyed two vehicles at a garage in Aradhana Nagar on Wednesday, with investigators yet to determine what triggered the blaze.

The blaze was reported around 6:10 am at Sahil Garage near a bus stop in Aradhana Nagar under Wathoda police station limits. A team led by fire official Chandrashekhar R Randive from Wathoda fire station rushed to the spot, while personnel from another fire station also joined the operation.

By the time firefighters arrived, flames had engulfed vehicles parked inside the garage. The team managed to contain the fire before it could spread to nearby structures or additional vehicles. “Two vehicles were completely destroyed, while two others, including a scrap vehicle, sustained partial damage,” an official said.

The garage is owned by Anant Sudhakar Kale. Preliminary estimates place the loss at around Rs 15 lakh. Firefighters said their swift response helped save property and vehicles worth nearly Rs 50 lakh.

The incident, which occurred when the premises was largely inactive, has raised questions about the fire’s origin, prompting investigators to keep all possibilities open. Fire officials have categorised the cause as “unknown” pending a detailed inquiry. Wathoda police are expected to examine whether the blaze was caused by an electrical fault, accidental ignition or any other factor. Investigators are also likely to scrutinise CCTV footage from the area to establish how the fire started. For now, the circumstances surrounding the blaze remain a mystery.
