Nagpur: An assistant police inspector (PI) at the Cyber Police Station allegedly assaulted and verbally abused a constable from his team on Thursday.
Incident Details
According to the complainant, Constable Prafull Thakare, a verbal altercation broke out with Assistant PI Vijay Rane over the investigation of a case. During the argument, Rane attempted to snatch Thakare's mobile phone. When Thakare refused to hand it over, Rane allegedly assaulted him.
Complaint and Action
Thakare met Joint Commissioner of Police (JtCP) Navinchandra Reddy and informed him of the matter. Taking cognisance of the complaint, Reddy ordered the Additional Commissioner of Police (Additional CP) to conduct an inquiry.
