The city of Nagpur has been chosen to host the esteemed 69th All India Police Duty Meet for the 2025-26 session, scheduled to take place from March 29 to April 3. This national-level event represents a significant gathering of law enforcement professionals from across the country, organized through a collaborative effort between the Nagpur City Police and the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

Massive Participation Expected from Police Forces Nationwide

The event will witness substantial participation with 1,327 police officers and officials registered to compete, alongside 144 specially trained police dogs and 29 distinct teams representing various states, Union Territories, and Central police organizations throughout India. This comprehensive participation underscores the event's importance as a platform for professional development and inter-force collaboration.

Inauguration and Competition Details

The official inauguration ceremony is set for Sunday at 5:00 PM at Shivaji Stadium within the Police Headquarters complex in Nagpur, with Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis presiding as the chief guest. Competitions will be conducted across six specialized policing subjects designed to test both theoretical knowledge and practical application.

The competition venues and subjects include:

  • Computer Awareness at Ramdeobaba College of Engineering in Gittikhadan
  • Police Dog Competition at the State Reserve Police Force Group facility
  • Police Videography, Anti-Sabotage Check, Scientific Aid to Investigation, and Police Photography at the Police Training Centre in Bajaj Nagar

These events incorporate both written examinations and practical components specifically structured to enhance professional competencies, encourage innovation in policing methodologies, foster healthy competitive spirit among participants, and improve coordination between different police forces operating throughout the nation.

Comprehensive Logistics and Security Arrangements

Extensive arrangements have been implemented to ensure the smooth execution of the week-long meet. Accommodation and dining facilities for all participants have been organized at various premium locations across Nagpur city. Medical facilities with round-the-clock availability will be operational at all competition venues to address any health concerns promptly.

For seamless transportation and enhanced security throughout the event, authorities have deployed 330 dedicated police vehicles and mobilized a substantial contingent of police personnel drawn from various districts across Maharashtra state.

Organizational Leadership and Closing Ceremony

The organizing committee for this prestigious event is chaired by Maharashtra Director General of Police Sadanand Date, with Additional DGP Sunil Ramanand serving as the organizing secretary. Other prominent committee members include Additional DGP Madhukar Pandey, Nagpur Commissioner of Police Ravinder Kumar Singal, Additional DGP Rajkumar Vhatkar, and several other senior police officers who will oversee different aspects of the event.

The closing ceremony is scheduled for April 3 and will be conducted in the presence of Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Roy, who will likely address the gathering and present awards to outstanding performers.
