Tragic Accident in Nagpur Claims Two Lives, Leaves Two Seriously Injured
In a devastating incident in Nagpur, two young men lost their lives and two others sustained severe injuries after their motorcycle collided with a stationary truck that was allegedly parked negligently on a public road. The victims have been identified as Suraj Ratre (22) and Balwant Banjare, both of whom succumbed to their injuries during treatment. The motorcycle rider, Devdas Jangle (23), a resident of Minimata Nagar, along with Mahendra Khilade (25), suffered serious injuries and are currently undergoing medical care at a trauma centre.
According to police reports, the four friends were returning from a wedding ceremony and travelling from Bharatwada to Vijay Nagar. Their motorcycle, registered as MH 49 CV 3670, crashed into the rear of a parked truck with registration number CG 08 AS 8755 near Lal School at Laxmi Nagar Chowk. The impact of the collision was severe, leading to immediate casualties.
Emergency Response and Hospitalization
Ratre and Banjare were rushed to Mayo Hospital, where doctors declared them dead upon arrival. Jangle and Khilade were initially admitted to a private hospital in Pardi but were later shifted to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) trauma centre due to the critical nature of their injuries. Medical authorities are closely monitoring their condition as they fight for recovery.
Police Investigation and Legal Action
Based on a complaint filed by Devdas Jangle with the Kalamna police, the truck driver, identified as Hanumant Ingle, is alleged to have parked the vehicle carelessly on the road without adequate safety precautions. This negligence is believed to have directly contributed to the tragic accident.
In response, the police have registered a case against the driver under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Motor Vehicles Act. An investigation is currently in progress to determine the exact circumstances and hold those responsible accountable.
