New CCTV in Laxmi Nagar assault; accused's brother defends

Fresh evidence has emerged in the shocking case of a family assault in east Delhi, with new CCTV footage revealing more details of the violent incident that occurred in Laxmi Nagar. The footage shows a group of men arriving at a residential property, opening a gate, and immediately launching an attack on a man.

New Video Evidence and Sequence of Attack

According to the newly surfaced CCTV clip, the assault unfolded in two distinct phases. First, a group of men arrived and began beating the victim. Moments later, a Thar SUV was seen speeding towards the house and crashing into the wall. Several men then got out of the vehicle and joined the ongoing assault, intensifying the violence.

This incident, which took place on January 2, allegedly stemmed from a dispute over a gym operating from the basement of a house in Laxmi Nagar. The complainant runs the gym, and the main accused, Satish Yadav alias Pintu Yadav, who worked as the gym's caretaker, allegedly cheated him and attempted to take over the business.

Victims' Ordeal and Police Response Scrutinized

The dispute escalated into a horrific attack where the man was beaten, his wife was allegedly molested, and their son was dragged onto the street, stripped, and assaulted by a group of four to five men. An earlier CCTV footage had already captured this brutal act.

The presence of police personnel in parts of the footage has raised serious questions. While police claim the assault stopped after they arrived, the victims have alleged they were beaten up in full view of the officers. This claim is currently being verified by the authorities.

According to the official complaint, the couple's son came out after hearing the commotion and was assaulted. The traumatized family has stated that their two sons left the house following the attack.

Accused's Family Defends Actions, Alleges Political Motive

In a new development, Omkar Yadav, the brother of the main accused and one of the absconding individuals, has released a video on social media defending his family's actions. He stated that his brother had been working with the complainant for "20-25 years" and had been running the gym for the past "12-13 years."

Omkar questioned why objections over the gym operation were raised only in the past five to six months. "If we captured the land, why did she start complaining only now?" he asked in the video.

He described the legal proceedings as "one-sided" and claimed he was also being targeted. Identifying himself as a worker of a political party, Omkar alleged he was being defamed by an opposition party. Regarding the incident, he claimed, "On Jan 2, I got a call from my brother. I reached the spot after 10-15 minutes. If I am seen kicking two or three times in the video, it was in self-defence. They started hitting first."

Legal Action and Current Status

Police have confirmed that the main accused, Satish Yadav, has been arrested, while the other accused, including Omkar Yadav, are currently absconding. A case has been registered at the Laxmi Nagar police station under various stringent provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

The charges include:

  • Voluntarily causing hurt
  • Wrongful restraint
  • Criminal trespass
  • Assault or use of criminal force to outrage a woman's modesty
  • Acts intended to insult a woman's modesty

The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to apprehend the remaining accused and piece together the full sequence of events from the available video evidence.
