NIA Arrests Key Conspirator in Delhi Car Blast Case

In a major breakthrough, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has apprehended a key conspirator in the devastating car blast that shook the capital near the historic Red Fort, an attack that resulted in the tragic loss of 12 innocent lives and left 32 individuals injured.

Key Arrest in the Terror Conspiracy

The National Investigation Agency has arrested Amir Rashid Ali, a resident of Samboora, Pampore in Jammu and Kashmir. The agency revealed that Ali conspired with the alleged suicide bomber, Umar Un Nabi, to execute the terror strike. The car used in the attack was registered in Amir Rashid Ali's name, and he had traveled to Delhi specifically to facilitate its purchase.

Forensic Findings and Investigation Details

Through forensic analysis, the NIA has confirmed the identity of the deceased driver as Umar Un Nabi, who was a resident of Pulwama district and held the position of Assistant Professor in the General Medicine Department at Al Falah University in Faridabad. The blast, caused by a vehicle-borne Improvised Explosive Device (IED), occurred around 7 pm on November 10.

The anti-terror agency has seized another vehicle belonging to Nabi and is currently examining it for evidence. In a sweeping investigation, the NIA has so far examined 73 witnesses, including many who were injured in the explosion that sent shockwaves through the national capital.

NIA's Multi-State Probe and Next Steps

Working in close coordination with the Delhi Police, Jammu and Kashmir Police, Haryana Police, Uttar Pradesh Police, and other sister agencies, the NIA is continuing its investigation across multiple states. The agency is actively pursuing several leads to unearth the larger conspiracy behind this bombing and identify all other individuals involved in the case.
