Noida Police Arrest Man for Injuring Waiter in Celebratory Firing Incident
In a shocking incident in Noida, a man has been arrested on charges of injuring an 18-year-old with a gun during an engagement ceremony in Bisrakh earlier this week. The event, which was meant to be a joyous occasion, turned violent due to celebratory firing by the accused, leading to the injury of a young waiter who was working at the function.
Details of the Arrest and Investigation
The accused was identified as Durvesh Kumar Baisoya, a native of Tila Mod, Ghaziabad, who currently resides in Dilshad Garden, Delhi. He was apprehended by police on the service road near Hanuman Square. During the arrest, authorities recovered an illegal pistol along with cartridges from his possession, highlighting the serious nature of the offense.
On Wednesday, police received information that 18-year-old Pushpendra, a resident of Lal Kuan, Ghaziabad, had been injured by a bullet during the engagement ceremony of a man named Ankit Bhati in Bisrakh village. Pushpendra was immediately rushed to a nearby private hospital for urgent medical treatment. Doctors later described his condition as stable, providing some relief amidst the chaos.
Legal Actions and FIR Filing
During the investigation, police determined that the accident occurred because some guests at the event fired guns to celebrate the occasion, a dangerous practice that has led to numerous incidents in the past. Based on a statement by Pushpendra's brother, a case was filed under sections 110 (attempt to commit culpable homicide) and 109(1) (attempt to murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at the Bisrakh police station.
The FIR further revealed that Pushpendra's father and other siblings were also working at the event, and that multiple guests had fired their guns, indicating a broader issue of reckless behavior. On Thursday, using manual intelligence and confidential information, the Bisrakh police successfully arrested Durvesh Kumar Baisoya. Further investigation into the case is currently underway to identify any other individuals involved and to ensure justice is served.
This incident underscores the ongoing problem of celebratory firing in India, which often results in tragic injuries or deaths. Authorities are urging the public to refrain from such practices and to adhere to safety regulations during festive events.
