Noida Traffic Police Issues New Year Advisory: Heavy Traffic Expected, Drunk Driving Crackdown
Noida NYE Traffic Advisory: Heavy Crowds, Parking Rules

With New Year's Eve celebrations just around the corner, the Noida Traffic Police has issued a comprehensive advisory for residents and revellers, forecasting heavy vehicular movement across the city, particularly around popular shopping hubs. The police have laid out detailed plans to manage the expected surge and ensure public safety on December 31 and January 1.

Key Traffic Restrictions and Arrangements

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Pravin Ranjan Singh stated that elaborate arrangements have been made across Noida and Greater Noida to facilitate smooth traffic flow. A major point of focus is the bustling Sector 18 market. To prevent gridlock, entry into Sector 18 from the gurdwara side will be completely restricted. Furthermore, there will be no entry for vehicles from 2 pm onwards at the gate in front of the metro station leading into the market area.

Police personnel will be strategically deployed at key locations to enforce these measures. Special attention will be given to major mall complexes. Traffic police will be stationed outside DLF Mall, and any vehicle found parked illegally along the roadside will be promptly towed away. This strict enforcement against unauthorized parking will be replicated at other prominent locations including:

Parking Advisory and Drunk Driving Crackdown

The police have specifically advised people heading to malls and markets to park their vehicles only in designated parking facilities. This directive aims to curb roadside parking, which is a primary cause of traffic snarls during peak hours.

In a significant move to ensure road safety, the traffic police will also conduct a special drive against drunk driving at key locations. This enforcement action is intended to deter driving under the influence of alcohol, a major risk during festive nights.

Coordinated Security Review

Meanwhile, in a parallel effort, the Noida city police have also conducted a review of security measures at various malls and markets. This indicates a coordinated approach between traffic and security wings to manage both congestion and safety during the high-footfall New Year celebrations.

The combined advisory from the police serves as a crucial guide for the public, urging them to plan their travel, use designated parking, and strictly avoid drinking and driving to ensure a safe and happy start to the new year.
