Nurpur Police Arrest Another Drug Peddler in Himachal Pradesh
In a continued crackdown against drug trafficking, the Nurpur police in Himachal Pradesh have arrested another drug peddler. The accused was apprehended during a routine vehicle checking drive on the Nurpur-Dharamshala road. A substantial quantity of contraband, including heroin and other substances, was recovered from his possession.
Details of the Arrest
The police had set up a naka at a strategic location to intercept suspicious vehicles. During the checking, a motorcycle was stopped, and the rider, identified as a resident of a nearby village, was found behaving nervously. Upon searching his belongings, the police recovered a packet containing heroin and some other drugs. The estimated value of the seized contraband is several lakh rupees.
The accused has been booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. He was produced before the local court and remanded to police custody for further interrogation. The police are now investigating his links to a larger drug network operating in the region.

This arrest is part of a series of actions taken by the Nurpur police to curb the menace of drug abuse in the area. In recent weeks, the police have intensified their patrolling and checking drives, leading to the arrest of several peddlers.
