A 32-year-old jawan of the Odisha Industrial Security Force (OISF) was arrested on Friday in Sundargarh district for allegedly raping a woman on the pretext of marriage. The accused has been identified as Ishak Kido, who was employed at Mahanadi Coalfields Limited in Hemgir.
Details of the Case
According to police, Kido was in a relationship with the 25-year-old woman for the past three years. He allegedly established a physical relationship with her after promising to marry her. However, he later refused to fulfill his promise, leading the woman to approach the police.
Based on a complaint lodged on Thursday, a case was registered and an investigation was initiated. Kido was detained, interrogated, and subsequently arrested on Friday night. Medical examinations of both the accused and the woman were conducted as part of the probe.
“After arresting the accused, we are investigating the case further,” said Saudamini Nag, inspector-in-charge of Sadar police station.
