The regional passport office in Panaji, Goa, was plunged into a state of high alert and anxiety after receiving an anonymous email claiming that an explosive device had been planted at Passport Bhavan. Following an extensive and coordinated security sweep of the premises, authorities confirmed that the threat was a complete hoax, with no dangerous materials discovered.

The passport office received the threatening communication on its official email account from a personal email address. The message explicitly warned of an impending blast and demanded that officials evacuate all innocent members of the public by 11 AM to avoid severe consequences. Superintendent of Police (North) Harish Madkaikar provided detailed insights into the security response, stating that upon receiving the information, immediate action was taken in strict accordance with established standard operating procedures for such threats. "A coordinated response was initiated, involving the bomb disposal squad, ATS, and staff from North Goa district," Madkaikar explained. "The teams swiftly reached the passport office and conducted a comprehensive search and investigation."

After conducting an exhaustive examination of the entire passport office facility, security personnel confirmed that no explosive substances or suspicious materials were discovered anywhere on the premises.
