In a recent administrative reshuffle within the Odisha police department, Parmar Smit Parshottamdas, who was serving as the Superintendent of Police (SP) in the Crime Investigation Department (CID) crime branch, has been transferred and posted as the new SP of Khurda district. This change was officially announced through a notification issued by the state's home department on Monday.
Background of the Transfer
Earlier, on May 23, a notification had been released appointing Parmar Smit Parshottamdas as the SP of Nayagarh district. However, in a subsequent development, that order has been revised. The latest notification, dated Monday, supersedes the previous one and assigns him to Khurda instead.
Details of the Notification
The home department's notification did not specify the reasons behind the change, but such adjustments are common in administrative postings to meet operational requirements. The transfer is effective immediately, and Parmar Smit Parshottamdas is expected to assume his new role in Khurda at the earliest.
It is noteworthy that Khurda is a key district in Odisha, housing parts of the state capital Bhubaneswar, and the SP position there carries significant responsibilities in maintaining law and order.
