Petrol Bomb Attack in Sector 25
A petrol bomb was hurled at a house in Sector 25, Chandigarh, on Sunday evening. According to CCTV footage reviewed by the police, six to seven miscreants arrived at the residence, smashed its windows, damaged a motorcycle parked outside, and hurled a petrol bomb at the gate. The fire was quickly extinguished by neighbors before it could spread to the house.
Secondary Vandalism in Maloya
Following the attack in Sector 25, the same group of miscreants allegedly committed another act of vandalism in the Maloya area. They reportedly smashed the windowpanes of four-wheelers parked along the roadside using sticks and sluggers. The police confirmed that the two incidents are connected.
Arrests and Motive
Acting on a complaint from the homeowner, the police scrutinized the CCTV footage and swiftly arrested all six accused. They have been identified as Prince, Dhruv, Shubham, Ankush, Arshdeep, and a juvenile. According to the police, the accused carried out the attacks to avenge an old rivalry. “The accused carried out the attacks to avenge an old rivalry,” said a police officer involved in the investigation.
Further investigation is underway to determine if the group was involved in any other criminal activities in the region.
