Major Liquor Bust in Dhar District as Police Seize Illicit Stock
In a significant enforcement action, Sardarpur police successfully seized a large quantity of illegally stocked liquor from a residential property in Talawpada village, located approximately 15 kilometers from Sardarpur town in Dhar district. The operation was carried out in the early hours of Sunday morning, following a crucial tip-off received by the authorities.
Swift Police Action Based on Intelligence
Sub-inspector Naval Singh Baghel provided details to the press, explaining that a dedicated police team was promptly dispatched to the village after receiving confidential information about the illicit activities. The team arrived at the location after midnight and executed a well-coordinated raid during the pre-dawn hours, ensuring minimal resistance and maximum effectiveness.
The raid led to the discovery of eleven boxes filled with cans of beer, which were stored in the courtyard of the house. In total, the police confiscated 132 liters of liquor, with an estimated market value of Rs 30,360. This seizure highlights the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to curb illegal alcohol trade in the region.
Arrest and Legal Proceedings Initiated
Following the successful seizure, the authorities took immediate legal action by arresting the house owner, identified as 35-year-old Mannu. He has been formally booked under the relevant sections of the Excise Act, which governs the regulation and prohibition of alcohol in the area. This arrest underscores the police's commitment to holding individuals accountable for violating excise laws.
