In a significant breakthrough, a joint team of the Special Operations Group (SOG) and Kareli police in Prayagraj has successfully worked out a property dealer murder case, leading to the arrest of two key assailants. The operation unfolded on Friday near the Railway Dott Bridge in Bakshi Moda, where the suspects were apprehended while allegedly planning their escape.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Mohd Hussain alias Plumber, aged 22, and Mohd Waseem alias Kabootar, aged 45, both residents of Kareli. During the arrest, police seized a motorcycle that was reportedly involved in the crime, adding crucial evidence to the investigation.

According to police reports, the incident dates back to the night of April 8, when a 45-year-old property dealer was shot dead near Gaus Nagar under the jurisdiction of the Kareli police station. The arrested miscreants have confessed to police that they maintained close links with prime accused Aasif Durani and his brother. Their statements revealed that the deceased property dealer had an old property dispute with Aasif Durani. Acting on instructions from the prime accused, the arrested individuals allegedly passed information to key assailants about the victim's whereabouts when he was sitting at a roadside tea corner, facilitating the fatal attack.
