"Frustrated by the constant taunts and harassment, my sister told me that she could no longer endure the situation," Nikhil recounted in his official statement. "I spoke to her husband and he agreed to arrange a separate flat for them in Delhi." The couple did move to a flat in Mohan Garden in 2024, but unfortunately, the conflict continued unabated.
Nikhil further explained that even in their new home, Ankur began arguing with Kajal, blaming her for "ruining his life" and "keeping him away from his family." To escape the escalating conflict, Kajal made the difficult decision to return to her parental home in Gannaur, Haryana, seeking refuge from the toxic environment.
The Fatal Attack and Medical Timeline
The situation reached its tragic climax on January 22 when Kajal called her brother during another heated argument. Nikhil described the horrifying moment: "While I was still on the phone with my sister, Ankur began hitting her on the head with the dumbbell." Just five minutes later, Ankur called Nikhil back and bluntly informed him about the assault.
Following the attack, Ankur initially took Kajal to a local hospital. Recognizing the severity of her injuries, her family transferred her to a hospital in Ghaziabad two days later. Despite medical efforts, Kajal's condition deteriorated, and she passed away three days after being admitted to the Ghaziabad facility.
Family Legacy and Personal Tragedy
Nikhil shared poignant details about his sister's life and aspirations. "She was our only sister among two brothers," he said emotionally. "I was selected for Delhi Police in 2018, and seeing me, she also decided to join the police force. She worked hard to get selected." Kajal's determination had led her to become part of the elite SWAT team, making her death particularly devastating for her colleagues and the police community.
