Seventy-two hours after a building collapse in Pune, rescue teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and other agencies are racing against time and debris to locate and pull out any remaining survivors. Officials confirmed that around 15 excavators are actively engaged in the operation, which continues around the clock.

The collapse occurred on July 8, 2026, in a residential area of Pune. Since then, NDRF teams have been working in shifts, using heavy machinery and specialized equipment to clear the rubble. According to a senior NDRF official, the focus remains on finding any signs of life, though the chances of survival diminish with each passing hour.
Local authorities have cordoned off the area, and medical teams are on standby to provide immediate assistance to anyone rescued. The exact number of people trapped is still unknown, but officials estimate that dozens may be buried under the debris.
