A 35-year-old man was shot dead in Pune on Tuesday night, with police attributing the murder to an old rivalry. The incident occurred around 9 pm near an eatery in Dehu Road, where unknown assailants opened fire on Ramesh Reddy, a local resident. He sustained critical injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
The victim's brother, Vikram Guruswamy Reddy, 37, had also been shot dead on February 13, 2025, in a separate incident in Gandhinagar, Dehu Road. Police have formed multiple teams to trace the assailants and are investigating possible links between the two murders.
An officer from the Pimpri Chinchwad crime branch confirmed that the attack was the result of an ongoing feud. Authorities are appealing for public assistance in identifying the suspects.
