Pune Police Probe Ex-IAS Probationer Puja Khedkar's Sedation, Theft Allegations
Pune Police probe Puja Khedkar's sedation, theft case

The Pune police have launched an investigation following serious allegations made by former IAS probationer Puja Khedkar. She claims that a domestic helper employed at her family home rendered her and her parents unconscious before stealing valuable items.

Details of the Alleged Incident

According to officials, Khedkar contacted the police late on Saturday night to report the incident at her family's bungalow on Baner Road. She alleged that a house help, recently hired from Nepal, administered sedatives to her and her parents, Dilip and Manorama Khedkar, causing them to lose consciousness.

Khedkar further stated that the accused individual then tied them up and fled the scene with their mobile phones and other valuables. She reported that she later managed to free herself and used another phone to inform the police about the crime.

Police Investigation Underway

An official confirmed that while Khedkar reported the incident over the phone, she has not yet filed a formal written complaint. Specific details regarding the other items allegedly stolen have also not been provided to the authorities. Nevertheless, a probe has been formally initiated based on her initial statement.

The police are currently working to verify the claims and gather more evidence related to the alleged sedation and theft.

Past Controversies Resurface

This incident brings the Khedkar family back into the spotlight, following previous legal entanglements. In the previous year, a case was registered against Dilip and Manorama Khedkar in connection with the alleged abduction of a truck driver after a road rage incident in Navi Mumbai.

Furthermore, Puja Khedkar herself is facing separate allegations of misrepresenting facts in her application for the 2022 UPSC civil services examination to avail reservation benefits. She has consistently denied all allegations leveled against her.

The current police investigation in Pune will seek to establish the facts surrounding the latest claims independently of these past controversies.
