Police Vehicle Crashes During Chase Near Nabha

A Station House Officer (SHO) of Nabha Sadar police station, Jaspreet Singh, sustained serious injuries after the police vehicle he was traveling in rammed into a wall while chasing suspected drug smugglers late on Wednesday night near Dhangera village, close to Nabha in Punjab.

Details of the Incident

The incident occurred when SHO Jaspreet Singh received a tip-off about the movement of suspected smugglers. Acting on the information, he along with his team set up a naka (checkpoint) near Dhangera village. When the suspects spotted the police naka, they sped away, prompting the police to chase them.

During the high-speed chase, the police vehicle lost control and crashed into a wall. The SHO suffered a head injury and a fractured arm. He was immediately rushed to the Civil Hospital in Nabha, where doctors referred him to the Government Rajindra Medical College and Hospital in Patiala for further treatment.

Suspects Escape, Police Launch Search

The suspected smugglers abandoned their vehicle at the crash site and managed to escape on foot. The police have impounded the abandoned vehicle and launched a search operation to nab the suspects. Further investigations are underway.
