Rajasthan Police Joins Haryana STF Terror Module Probe

Rajasthan Police Deploys Team to Haryana Following Major Terror Module Bust

In a significant security development, Rajasthan Police has sent a specialized team to Ambala, Haryana, after the Haryana Special Task Force (STF) dismantled an alleged terror module and apprehended three individuals. The suspects are accused of conducting detailed reconnaissance operations in Rajasthan's Hanumangarh district, according to official statements released on Saturday.

Arrests and IED Recovery in Haryana

The Haryana STF executed the arrests on Friday, leading to the seizure of a substantial 2 kg improvised explosive device (IED) from the detained suspects. This recovery has heightened concerns about potential terrorist activities targeting critical infrastructure in the region.

Additional Director General of Police (ATS) Dinesh MN confirmed that a Rajasthan Police contingent has been dispatched to Haryana to interrogate the arrested individuals and collect comprehensive intelligence regarding the alleged plot. "We are collaborating closely with the Haryana STF to uncover all facets of this operation," Dinesh MN stated.

Reconnaissance Operations Across Multiple States

Preliminary investigations indicate that the accused conducted surveillance at numerous locations in Punjab, as well as at vital sites in Rajasthan and Haryana. An official involved in the probe revealed, "There are credible reports suggesting that videos of these strategic locations were recorded and transmitted to their handlers to facilitate the selection of potential targets."

Authorities have identified one of the three arrested suspects as a resident of Ajmer district in Rajasthan, underscoring the cross-border nature of the threat. Investigators are also examining whether the suspects maintained a local support network within Hanumangarh district to aid their activities.

Hanumangarh District Under Scrutiny

Initial intelligence inputs suggest that the suspects may have temporarily stored the IED parcels in Hanumangarh for several days before relocating them to another site. In response, Hanumangarh police have initiated a thorough review of CCTV footage across the district to trace the precise movements of the accused.

"We have deployed a deputy superintendent of police-rank officer to Haryana and are maintaining constant communication with the STF team there," an official from Rajasthan Police elaborated. A dedicated special team from Hanumangarh police is actively investigating the matter, focusing on identifying all locations visited by the suspects within the district.

Historical Context and Ongoing Investigations

This incident echoes a previous security breach in November last year, when the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) uncovered a terror module. During that investigation, the accused disclosed that they had retrieved an arms cache from Tibbi town in Hanumangarh, highlighting the district's recurrent involvement in such activities.

Police are now intensifying efforts to determine any connections between the current suspects and earlier terror networks. The collaborative probe between Rajasthan Police and Haryana STF aims to dismantle any remaining cells and prevent future threats to regional security.
