Tragic Hit-and-Run in Rajkot Village Claims Life of 40-Year-Old Man
In a shocking incident that has sent ripples through the community, a 40-year-old man was allegedly run over and killed by a 20-year-old youth in Nana Matra village of Vichhiya taluka, Rajkot district, on Wednesday. The police have confirmed the details of this tragic event, which underscores the grave consequences of unresolved personal conflicts.
Victim and Accused Identified in the Fatal Incident
The deceased has been identified as Gabha, also known as Gabhru Garabhdiya, a resident of the area. The accused, named Bhaga Garabhdiya, is currently under investigation for his alleged involvement in the crime. According to official reports, a case has been registered at the Vichhiya police station based on a complaint filed by the victim's wife, Ramila alias Jashu Garabhdiya, who is 35 years old.
Sequence of Events Leading to the Tragedy
As per the complaint, the incident unfolded around 9 am on Wednesday when Gabha was heading to a farm to spray pesticides. He was traveling on a motorcycle with his son Rohit and daughter Kailash, embarking on what should have been a routine agricultural task. Within just 10 minutes of leaving their home, the accused allegedly rammed his Swift car into their two-wheeler from behind in a deliberate and violent manner.
The impact was severe, and in a horrifying turn of events, the accused then drove over the motorcycle, causing critical injuries to Gabha. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment, but despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries and died during the course of treatment.
Motive Behind the Alleged Crime
The complaint further reveals that the accused had been nursing a deep-seated grudge against Gabha, which is believed to have motivated this brutal act. Police investigations indicate that two to three months prior to the incident, the accused's mother, Madhu, had accused Gabha of holding her hand, an allegation that apparently festered into resentment over time.
Police Action and Evidence Collection
In response to the complaint, the police have taken swift action by seizing the Swift car used in the crime. Preliminary inquiries have uncovered that the accused had borrowed the vehicle from a friend, adding another layer to the investigation. Authorities are now delving deeper into the circumstances surrounding the incident, including the nature of the prior dispute and any potential premeditation involved.
This tragic case highlights the urgent need for conflict resolution and community vigilance to prevent such violent outcomes. The local police are continuing their probe to ensure justice is served for the victim and his grieving family.
