Relative Arrested for Assaulting Medical Staff at Bhubaneswar Hospital

Police in Bhubaneswar arrested a man on Friday for allegedly attacking medical personnel at Capital Hospital. The incident occurred when the accused accompanied his uncle to the facility.

Violent Outburst During Hospital Visit

According to police officials, the accused, identified as 39-year-old Bindu Sagar Rout, became violent after a doctor advised him to visit the casualty department. Rout allegedly turned on the doctor and a plaster technician present at the scene.

The assault resulted in serious injuries to the technician. Medical staff at the hospital provided immediate treatment to the injured technician following the attack.

Police Response and Arrest

Hospital security personnel quickly intervened and detained Rout until police arrived at the scene. Officers from the local police station took the accused into custody and registered a case against him.

A police officer stated, "The accused accompanied his uncle to the hospital. When the doctor advised him to visit the casualty department, he attacked the former and a plaster technician. The technician sustained serious injuries."

Authorities are investigating the exact circumstances that led to the violent outburst. Police have not disclosed whether Rout was under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the incident.
