Police in Rewari have made a significant arrest in a deeply disturbing case involving a minor athlete. A junior hockey coach stands accused of raping a teenage girl he trained, resulting in a pregnancy that tragically ended in a miscarriage.
Complaint Filed After Miscarriage
The case came to light when a Class 12 student from a local village approached the Khol police station on Friday. The young survivor, a hockey player, detailed a harrowing sequence of events in her official complaint. She stated that a coach, whom she had known for approximately three years, sexually assaulted her about four months prior. The alleged rape occurred in a bathroom at the stadium where she regularly trained for hockey.
The consequences of the assault were severe. The girl became pregnant and subsequently suffered a miscarriage on January 5. Following the miscarriage, her health began to deteriorate, prompting her family to admit her to a hospital for necessary medical care.
Swift Police Action Under POCSO Act
Acting promptly on the survivor's complaint, the Rewari police registered a First Information Report (FIR) on Friday. The case has been filed under the stringent Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act along with other relevant sections of the law.
Law enforcement moved quickly to apprehend the accused. "We have arrested the accused junior coach. After producing him in a city court we have taken him on two days of police remand and are questioning him," a spokesperson for the Rewari police confirmed on Saturday.

The accused coach is now in police custody for a two-day remand period, during which authorities are conducting intensive questioning. This remand was granted by a city court after the accused was formally produced before it.
