A tragic accident occurred on Saturday in Uppinangady, located on the Bengaluru-Mangaluru national highway, where a 56-year-old construction worker from Bihar lost his life after being run over by a road roller. The deceased has been identified as Ramachandra Shikari.
Accident Details
According to police reports, the incident took place near Aditya Hotel at Gandhi Park in Uppinangady. The road roller was allegedly being driven negligently by the accused driver, identified as SK Kajal. The victim was working at the road construction site when the road roller ran over him, resulting in his immediate death.
Legal Action
A case has been registered at the Puttur traffic police station under sections 281 and 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The police are investigating the matter further.
