In a daring burglary, thieves broke into the locked residence of two brothers, both government officers, in Anand Vihar Colony under the Beur police station area in Patna on Wednesday night. The culprits made off with jewellery, cash, and other valuables valued at over Rs 50 lakh. The family was away at their ancestral village to attend the shradh ceremony of their mother.

Victims and Circumstances

The victims have been identified as Samdarshi Paswan, a marketing officer posted in Piro (Bhojpur), and his younger brother Ravi Bhushan Paswan, a block development officer (BDO) in Samastipur. The brothers live jointly with their families in the same house. The incident came to light when the family returned and found the house ransacked.

Stolen Items

According to the Beur police, the stolen items include gold chains, necklaces, mangalsutra, jitiya, silver anklets, rings, and other valuables. The family also reported that approximately 200–250 grams of old gold jewellery belonging to their mother, which was kept in a safe, was stolen.
