Sambhal Shoe Trader Murder: Wife, Lover Chop Body, Dump in Ganga
Sambhal Murder: Wife, Lover Kill, Dismember Trader

In a horrific crime echoing a notorious past murder, police in Uttar Pradesh have uncovered a gruesome case where a shoe trader was allegedly murdered, dismembered, and his body parts scattered by his wife and her lover.

A Grisly Discovery and a Missing Persons Ruse

Sambhal Superintendent of Police Krishan Kant Bishnoi detailed the sequence of events that began with a missing complaint. On November 18, Ruby (30), a housewife, reported her 32-year-old husband Rahul Kumar missing. The investigation took a macabre turn on December 15, when police discovered a human torso with missing limbs.

Shortly after, a polythene packet containing a severed head was found in a drain. During examination, investigators made a crucial discovery: the name 'Rahul' was inked on the chest of the torso. This led police to summon Ruby for identification.

The Confession: A Crime of Passion and Brutal Cover-up

When called to identify the remains, Ruby refused and subsequently disappeared, which immediately raised red flags for the police. Upon being located and questioned, she broke down and confessed to the murder along with her lover, Gaurav Kumar, a neighbour.

Ruby stated that on the night of November 17, Rahul caught her and Gaurav in a compromising position at their home in Chandausi. An altercation ensued where Rahul threatened to defame her and throw her out of the house. "At that moment, I told Gaurav to finish him off," Ruby confessed.

Gaurav allegedly struck Rahul on the head with an iron rod, while Ruby hit him with a metal shoe-hammer, killing him on the spot. To dispose of the evidence, the duo embarked on a gruesome plan the next day.

Methodical Disposal Mirrors Notorious Meerut Case

On November 18, the accused brought a grinder tool and dismembered Rahul's body, placing the parts in bags. They then hired a vehicle and drove to Rajghat, where they dumped one bag containing the severed head and legs, along with Rahul's mobile phone, into the River Ganga.

Later that same night, they threw another bag of body parts into a drain. They burned Rahul's lower garment and their own blood-stained clothes. The grinder tool was hidden in nearby bushes.

Police noted the brutality and execution closely mirrored the infamous Meerut "blue drum" murder from March 4, where a woman named Muskan and her lover Sahil killed and dismembered ex-merchant navy officer Saurabh Rajput, sealing his remains in a cement-filled drum.

The couple had been married for 12 years and have an 11-year-old son. The child informed police that his parents frequently fought over a man who visited their house often.

Both accused, Ruby and Gaurav Kumar, have been arrested. An FIR has been registered under BNS sections 103 (murder), 238 (causing disappearance of evidence/giving false information), and 61 (criminal conspiracy).
