The Sangrur police have cracked the double murder case of two youngsters who were attacked and killed in broad daylight at Kakkarwal Chowk in Dhuri town on Tuesday, with the arrest of six persons. The police have booked eight persons by name, including a woman, and some unidentified accused in connection with the killings.
Arrests and Recoveries
Sangrur SSP Ravjot Kaur Grewal said two motorcycles used in the crime have been recovered. The victims were identified as Anil Kumar (27) and Dev Kumar (21). A murder case had been registered against Ashok Kumar and his three sons, Labbu, Sawan and Baba; Prince and Raman Kumar, sons of Vicky Kumar; Karan Rataul, Rani and some unidentified persons.
Motive: Old Personal Enmity
According to Dhuri DSP Gurpreet Singh, the killings were the result of an old personal enmity. The police said the assailants assaulted the duo with sharp-edged weapons in a salon on Tuesday. While Dev died on the spot, Ajay succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
Investigation and Manhunt
The police have registered a case on the statement of Dev’s father and launched a manhunt to arrest the accused. The police said Vicky Kumar, a former president of the Nagar Council, is already lodged in jail in connection with another case.
