Sarpanch's Son Brutally Murdered in Madhya Pradesh Over Parking Dispute; Attack Filmed on Mobile Phone

In a horrific and violent incident that has sent shockwaves through the community, the son of a village sarpanch was brutally hacked to death with a sword and an axe in Madhya Pradesh's Shivpuri district on Sunday morning. The attack, which stemmed from a seemingly minor dispute over parking a two-wheeler, was allegedly filmed by the accused on a mobile phone until the victim collapsed. Three other individuals, including the sarpanch himself, were also injured in the savage assault that occurred in the Mayapur police station area.

Victim Identified as Yudhishthir Yadav

The deceased has been identified as Yudhishthir Yadav, the son of Muhasa gram panchayat sarpanch Rajendra Singh Yadav (62). Police officials confirmed that a video of the gruesome assault has surfaced and is being examined as part of the ongoing investigation. The incident underscores a disturbing escalation of violence over trivial matters in rural areas.

Sequence of Events Leading to the Tragedy

According to the account provided by Rajendra Singh Yadav, he and his son had gone to Purva Simla village around 8:30 am to hire labourers. They parked their motorcycle near a house and were conversing with villagers when an argument unexpectedly erupted. The sarpanch alleged that a man named Dharmendra Yadav arrived on a tractor and objected to the motorcycle being parked on the road.

When Rajendra and Yudhishthir protested, Dharmendra allegedly drove the tractor over their bike, causing significant damage. This act of aggression quickly turned the dispute violent. Police reports indicate that Dharmendra then called his family members to the spot. His father, Captain Yadav, arrived armed with a sword and an axe, escalating the confrontation into a deadly melee.

Brutal Attack and Aftermath

During the violent clash, Yudhishthir Yadav was attacked repeatedly with the weapons, suffering severe and fatal injuries to his chest, stomach, and arms. He collapsed on the ground soon after the assault. The attackers also turned on Rajendra Singh Yadav and two others, Ajay Pal Yadav and Gandharva Yadav, who had attempted to intervene. All three sustained injuries and were rushed to a hospital for treatment.

Yudhishthir was taken to the government hospital in Khaniadhana, where doctors declared him dead upon arrival. The other injured individuals are currently undergoing medical treatment, with their conditions being monitored closely. The community is reeling from the brutality of the attack, which was captured on video, adding a layer of horror to the already tragic event.

Underlying Land Dispute Suspected

Family members of the victims have pointed to deeper, underlying tensions in the village, particularly related to land. They revealed that a government electricity powerhouse is proposed for the area, and the accused were allegedly in possession of a piece of government land that had been cleared for the project. The family suspects that the attack may be linked to this longstanding land dispute, suggesting that the parking argument was merely a trigger for pre-existing animosities.

Local authorities are investigating all angles, including the possible connection to the land issue, to ensure justice is served. The incident highlights the urgent need for conflict resolution mechanisms and stricter law enforcement in rural regions to prevent such senseless violence from occurring.
