Software Engineer Dies in Bengaluru Road Accident

A tragic road accident in Bengaluru claimed the life of a 26-year-old software engineer in the early hours of Thursday. The incident occurred at Marathahalli Bridge in Spice Garden Layout when a speeding car collided with the motorcycle she was riding pillion on.

Details of the Incident

The deceased, identified as NT Krishna Sri from Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, worked for a private company in the city and resided in a PG accommodation in Ashwath Nagar. According to police reports, the accident took place around 2 am when Krishna Sri was riding pillion on a bike driven by her colleague, Avinash (26). As they approached the bridge, Avinash allegedly drove against the traffic on a one-way stretch.

A Skoda car, traveling in the correct direction, crashed into the bike on the bridge. The impact was so forceful that Krishna Sri was thrown into the air, over the flyover, and fell onto the service road below. She sustained severe head injuries, as she was not wearing a helmet. Avinash, who fell onto the road on the bridge after the collision, suffered injuries and is reported to be out of danger and undergoing treatment.

The HAL traffic police have registered a case against the car driver, Suresh Kumar S (40), also employed at a software company. A breathalyzer test revealed an alcohol reading of 62 mg per 100 ml, leading to his arrest. He will be produced in court.

Police also collected a blood sample from Avinash to determine if he was under the influence of alcohol. A senior officer stated that Avinash intended to open a hotel and claimed he was taking Krishna Sri to show her the location.
