Police in Surat reported a shocking murder at an industrial unit in Kapodra late on Saturday night. A textile labourer lost his life in this violent incident. Two fellow workers allegedly carried out the attack. Authorities have already arrested both accused individuals.
Victim Identified as Ajay Kumar
The victim was Ajay Kumar, a labourer working in the area. Manoj Saket and Suresh Saket, both also labourers, attacked him inside the Chamunda Works unit. This unit is located within the Krishna Industrial Estate in Kapodra.
Friend Discovers the Crime
According to police statements, Kumar had left to get food for himself and his friend Santosh Yadav. He did not return for an extended period. Yadav grew worried and went out to search for his missing friend.
While passing the Chamunda Works unit, Yadav heard Kumar's desperate cries for help. He looked through the gate and witnessed a horrifying scene. The two accused were assaulting Kumar with a stick and a hammer.
Police Response and Arrests
Yadav acted quickly. He immediately called the emergency helpline number 112 to alert the police. Officers from the Kapodra police station rushed to the location.
Upon arrival, police broke open the unit's gate. They found Ajay Kumar dead at the scene. The two accused, Manoj Saket and Suresh Saket, were sitting near the body. Police took them into custody promptly.
