He proceeded to attack multiple individuals, including police personnel and hospital staff, before fatally stabbing Dr Vandana Das, who was on duty in the casualty wing.
Dr Vandana, a recently qualified MBBS graduate serving as a house surgeon, sustained multiple severe stab injuries during the assault. Despite being rushed to a hospital in Thiruvananthapuram for emergency treatment, she tragically succumbed to her wounds. Her untimely death sparked widespread outrage and protests throughout Kerala's medical fraternity, with healthcare workers demanding enhanced security measures in hospitals.
