A 19-year-old girl died by suicide on Wednesday after being raped, filmed, and blackmailed by several youths two days earlier. The incident occurred in the Bichhor area of Nuh around 1 am, according to police.
Details of the Incident
The victim's father filed a complaint stating that she was pressured by constant blackmail, which led her to drink pesticide and faint. The father said, "We just want justice for our daughter," and described the accused as "dabang" (notorious) individuals.
She was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors informed her father that she had consumed a poisonous substance. Police were alerted. "After recording the statements, we took our daughter to a government hospital, but she died on the way," the father, a farmer, said.
The Assault
Two days ago, while the father was out, the daughter was sleeping alone in her room, and her mother was sleeping on the terrace. Around 1 am on Monday, two men named in the FIR, Arshad and Jahul, entered their home. Another unknown person stood outside to keep watch. The accused took turns raping the girl and recorded the assault, taking obscene photographs.
The accused threatened the girl that if she told anyone, she would be killed. They then began blackmailing her with the videos and photos, demanding she meet them, or the material would be circulated on social media.
Father's Statement
The father told TOI, "I have not been keeping well, and my mother is also undergoing health issues. I had gone to meet her and consult a doctor. Behind my back, the accused targeted my home and assaulted my daughter. This incident has shattered me and left me in distress. I am not an affluent person. I only want the accused to be arrested and strict action taken against them."
Following the FIR, a police team is searching for the accused. The body was handed over to the family on Wednesday evening.
