In a tragic incident in Bichhiya village under Purwa Kotwali area of Unnao, the body of a teenage girl was found hanging from a noose under suspicious circumstances. Police have taken possession of the body and sent it for post-mortem examination, while launching a thorough investigation into the matter.
Sequence of Events
According to family members, on Friday evening, while the girl was at home, she received a call on her mobile phone from a young man from the same village. When her maternal uncle inquired about the call, she revealed that the youth had been repeatedly calling and harassing her. The maternal uncle then approached the youth's family and requested them to counsel him about his behavior.
Shortly after this complaint, the family alleged that the girl hanged herself inside her room. When she did not come out for an extended period, family members entered the room and found her body hanging from a noose. They raised an alarm, drawing nearby villagers to the spot.
Police Response
Upon receiving information, Purwa Kotwali police arrived at the scene, took down the body, and sent it for post-mortem. Evidence was collected from the location, and statements from the deceased's family were recorded. The family has accused the youth of causing mental harassment and demanded strict legal action against him.
