Separate Tragedy: Woman Killed in Palarivattom Road Accident

In an unrelated but equally tragic incident, a 51-year-old woman was killed in a road accident on the Palarivattom Bypass on Monday morning. The deceased has been identified as A V Sindhu of Chatham Road, Panangad.

The accident occurred near the Puthiya Road bus stop on the bypass. Preliminary reports indicate that Sindhu was riding her two-wheeler to work when a car moving ahead of her in the same direction suddenly turned onto the service road. Her scooter brushed against the rear of the car, causing her to lose control.

In the ensuing chaos, Sindhu was thrown from her scooter and fell under a passing truck, which ran over her. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Background and Official Response

Sindhu worked as a clerk at the dredger sub-division office at Kakkanad Civil Station. The Palarivattom police have registered a case in connection with the accident and are conducting a thorough investigation.

Her body was handed over to her family after a post-mortem examination was completed. Authorities are urging motorists to exercise caution, especially on busy bypass roads, to prevent such tragedies in the future.

These back-to-back incidents have cast a shadow over Kochi, highlighting the urgent need for increased safety measures near water bodies and on roads to protect citizens from preventable accidents.
