Telangana Reshuffles Seven Senior IPS Officers

The Telangana state government on Friday carried out a significant reshuffle of seven senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officers, including the commissioners of Malkajgiri and Future City police commissionerates. The changes are aimed at strengthening the administrative and law enforcement framework in the state.

Key Appointments and Transfers

New Commissioners for Malkajgiri and Future City

Inspector General of Police (Special Intelligence Bureau) B Sumathi has been appointed as the Commissioner of Police for Malkajgiri, replacing Avinash Mohanty. Meanwhile, Tarun Joshi has been named as the Commissioner of Police for Future City, succeeding G Sudheer Babu.

Shikha Goel Moves to Home Department

Director General (Vigilance and Enforcement) Shikha Goel has been transferred and posted as Principal Secretary of the Home Department. She will continue to hold additional charges as Director of the Telangana Cyber Security Bureau and Director of the Telangana Forensic Science Laboratory.

DS Chauhan Takes Over Vigilance and Enforcement

In place of Shikha Goel, Additional Director General of Police (Personnel) DS Chauhan has been posted as Director General of Vigilance and Enforcement.

Shahnawaz Qasim Transferred to Multi-Zone II

Director General (Drugs Control Administration) Shahnawaz Qasim has been transferred as Inspector General of Police for Multi-Zone II.

Avinash Mohanty to Head DCA

Avinash Mohanty, the outgoing Malkajgiri Commissioner, will now head the Drugs Control Administration (DCA). He will also hold additional charges as Director of Prohibition and Excise and Director of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).

Kartikeya Gets Additional Charge of SIB

Inspector General of Police (Intelligence) Kartikeya will take on the additional charge of IG (Special Intelligence Bureau), replacing B Sumathi.

Retirements and Future Appointments

Present Future City Commissioner G Sudheer Babu is set to retire at the end of April. Additionally, Director General of Police B Shivadhar Reddy is expected to retire by the end of this month, prompting the state government to appoint a new DGP soon.

These changes are part of the government's ongoing efforts to streamline police administration and ensure effective law enforcement across Telangana.
